Child Safety Grill

Kids climb. It's what they do. A child safety grill makes sure the window sill or balcony railing is where the adventure stops. Whether you prefer classic aluminium/MS grills sized so small heads and shoulders can't pass, or modern invisible cable grills that keep your view, the goal is the same: a barrier that holds a child's weight without question.

TrueInstaller connects you with verified grill fabricators who design around your windows, your floor height and — most importantly — your child's age.

What makes a grill "child-safe"

  • Gap discipline — vertical bars or cables spaced ≤ 2 inches (50 mm), the spacing safety codes recommend for children.
  • No climbing ladder — horizontal members avoided or placed out of reach so the grill can't be scaled.
  • Load-tested anchors — fasteners into RCC/solid brick, not just plaster.
  • Openable escape panel — a lockable section for fire escape, with the key stored high.
  • No sharp edges — ground welds and rounded finials at child height.

Frequently asked questions

Grill or safety net — which is better for kids?

A grill is a rigid, lifetime barrier; a safety net is faster and cheaper. For windows children can reach, we recommend a grill; nets work well as an additional layer on balconies.

Will the society object to a window grill?

Most societies allow inside-mounted grills and invisible grills since the façade doesn't change. Your installer can provide a spec sheet for RWA approval.

Can the grill be removed later without damage?

Yes — bolted designs unbolt cleanly, leaving only small anchor points that are easily patched.
