Retractable Awning

Terrace breakfast in the shade, star-gazing after dark — with a retractable awning you don't choose between them. Folding lateral arms push the fabric out up to 3–4 metres when you want cover, and tuck the whole thing flat against the wall when you don't. Crank handle or motor with remote: your call.

TrueInstaller connects you with verified retractable awning installers who size the arms to your projection, anchor into structure (not just plaster) and tune the fabric tension so it stays drum-tight.

Why go retractable

  • Shade on demand — extend for afternoon sun, retract for evening sky or high wind.
  • Protects itself — folded away, the fabric avoids the weather that ages fixed awnings.
  • Big coverage — single units span up to ~6 m wide with 3.5 m projection; units gang for cafés.
  • Motorised comfort — remote, wall switch, or app; add wind/sun sensors for auto behaviour.
  • No posts — cantilever arms leave the floor completely clear.

Frequently asked questions

Can it stay out in rain?

Light drizzle yes (with enough pitch to shed water); heavy rain and wind, retract it. Sensors can automate this.

What if the motor fails?

Motorised units include a manual crank override, so the awning never sticks open.

How much wall height is needed?

About 2.5–3 m mounting height works best so the extended awning slopes without blocking headroom.

Sun when you want it. Shade when you don't.
