Frequently asked questions
How much height does a false ceiling take?
Typically 4–8 inches below the slab. Rooms above 9 ft carry it comfortably; for lower rooms, a perimeter-only cove keeps the centre full height.
Gypsum or POP — which is better?
Gypsum is faster, cleaner and joint-free for flat designs; POP wins for heavy curves and mouldings. Many homes combine both.
Will it crack over time?
Not if framed on proper GI channels with taped joints and expansion gaps. Ask your contractor for a workmanship warranty in the quote.
