Will a metal staircase feel bouncy?
Not if the stringer section is sized for the span — that's the design step. Ask what section is quoted; good fabricators over-spec rather than under.
What tread surface is safest?
Chequered plate or grooved wood for grip; outdoor stairs benefit from perforated treads that drain rain.
Is a spiral stair comfortable for daily use?
For occasional access, yes; for the main family stair, an L-shape or straight flight climbs easier. Your fabricator will be honest about the trade-off.
