Frequently asked questions
Do I need structural drawings for a small shed?
For simple spans fabricators work from standard designs; for larger spans, mezzanines or anything load-bearing, insist on stamped drawings — good contractors arrange them.
Bolted or welded construction?
Workshop-welded, site-bolted is the sweet spot: better weld quality, faster and cleaner erection, and the structure can be dismantled later.
What about painting and rust?
Ask for shot-blasted or wire-brushed surface prep, zinc/red-oxide primer and a top coat; galvanised or duplex systems for coastal and chemical environments.
